Job Summary:

Perform duties including the configuration, installation and management of Cisco networking equipment and Unified Communications Systems following Cisco's recommendaded best practices for IP Telephony/Networking environments; work with users and IT team members to resolve problems with their networking or Unified Communications equipment for both on-campus and remote offices; document network and communication equipment or connections by preparing diagrams, charts or using ITC's custom web applications; provide support for remote access, wireless and visitors network trouble tickets and new installations; work with management for planning of system upgrades as well as long term strategic planning; provide guidance to more junior staff.


Requires a BS or MS degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering or related field with an emphasis in Networking and IP telephony and at least 3.0 GPA. Cisco CCNA (Routing/Switching or Voice), CCNP, CCVP, A+ and/or Network+ is a plus; experience with NetScout NGenius One is also a plus. Must have 7 years of experience in the configuration, management and troubleshooting of Cisco networking equipment including routers, switches and wireless access points in a campus environment, 3 years of experience in the configuration, management and troubleshooting of a Cisco Unified Communications environment in a campus environment with remote offices, 2 or more years of experience in an information technology help desk environment and 2 years of experience in script programming (Python, TcL, JavaScript, Perl, etc.), configuration, management and troubleshooting of Cisco's Unified Communications Contact Center. Must be familiar with BGP-4 and protocol analysis with packet traces; must have excellent working knowledge of all basic TCP/IP protocols, including telnet, ftp, smtp, http, https, ssh, sip, VPN and others. Ability to work harmoniously with service vendors, supervisors and co-workers; must have excellent verbal and technical writing skills; must have a thorough understanding of network performance and the factors that affect it; must have the ability to use network monitoring and analysis tools for troubleshooting as well as pre-emptive actions; experience in a Network Operations Center is a plus. A valid/clear driver's license is required.
