Title: SUPERVISOR, PATIENT CARE AREAS - INTENSIVE CARE - FT NIGHTS Position number: 5548 Location: Scripps Health, San Diego (Encinitas), San Diego, 92024 Job Description: Responsible for the day to day operations of the patient care unit or department in an efficient and cost effective manner. Under the general direction of the Patient Care Manager, shares responsibility for the unit on a 24 hour basis providing leadership responsibilities for designated clinical areas. Functions as a resource for staff and trains and develops staff. Provides input into the hiring process. With input from the Patient Care Manager, writes performance appraisals and counsels staff. Maintains accountability for standards of patient care. Participates with the Patient Care Manager in the development of the budget and is responsible for monitoring budgetary expenses. Requirements: Basic Qualifications: Maintains current licensure as a Registered Nurse in California. BSN Required. Minimum Qualifications: Minimum 3-5 years critical care experience. Requires excellent communication, problem-solving, team development, planning and follow-through. Ability to exercise the authority and responsibility for assigned services based on the scope of the organization and complexity of patient care. Understands fundamentals of information systems and has working knowledge of computer use and concepts. Current American Heart Association BLS for healthcare provider and all competenciescertifications of the unit required upon hire date. Preferred Qualifications: Minimum two years recent progressive leadership experience in an acute care facility. CCRN preferred. Baccalaureate degree in Nursing preferred.
