WHAT WOULD SOME OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE?

I. PURPOSE/SUMMARY:

This position is accountable for conducting analyses of occupational hazards and health and environmental risks and prescribing the preventive or corrective measures, equipment, training and education necessary to insure that the location meets and/or exceeds the requirements of federal, state, and local regulations, codes and/or laws and company policies and procedures.


II. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

A.) Develops and publishes safety and environmental programs consistent with regulations and company policy.
B.) Coordinate SH&E capital projects to improve performance and / or compliance.
C.) Performs job hazard analysis to identify loss potential of our systems and processes.
D.) Review and interpret loss data to discover causative agents and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
E.) Review and revise location standards, policies and practices as necessary to assure they are current and in concert with company and / or regulatory requirements.
F.) Review and evaluate technical developments to measure applicability to our processes.
G.) Trains associates, managers/supervisors and other employees in the areas of general safety and environmental awareness, specific program requirements and specific job requirements.
H.) Maintains required records, prepares reports and files as necessary to meet corporate and regulatory requirements.
I.) Utilize approved measurement procedures, such as cost stats and work sampling to evaluate performance.
J.) Conducts hazard and job safety analysis to ensure proper use of machinery and equipment, personal protective equipment, and procedures.
K.) Conduct plant Inspections.
L.) Prepares reports of findings with recommendations for corrective action.
L.) Audit implementation by effected personnel.
N.) Organize and coordinate emergency response.
O.) Investigates accidents to ascertain causes in order to develop preventive safety measures and programs.

III. ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assists in maintaining location safety and health record system. Assists in coordinating outside services associated with safety, health and property conservation programs

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor degree (B.A.) or equivalent, related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Possesses a thorough knowledge of OSHAS 18001 and ISO 14000 standards
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read, analyzes, and interprets procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers and employees.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to define problems collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of instructions and deal with several issues at once.
