Department works with all lines of business to develop and integrate innovative and proactive safety, health and environmental solutions. The department develops company-wide policies and procedures for Safety, Health and Environmental providing subject matter
expertise on a variety of disciplines. SH&E maintains knowledge of, and interprets and determines regulatory compliance with safety, health and environmental regulations, policies, and public and organizational programs. Position SummaryThe
Safety Specialist works with all PG&E utility departments to detect, prevent and mitigate safety risks, conducts and completes incident analysis and ensures the chain of command is notified. The Safety Specialist, will provide subject matter expertise on
incident analysis and provides consultation and guidance on corrective action development. He/She will collaborate and support lines of business and guides them on all safety related business while utilizing safety trend analysis to identify and mitigate actions to
correct gaps. The Safety Specialist will introduce and implement innovative solutions with impact to correct gaps. Partners with the Learning Academy to improve training quality and serves as a resource for the development, implementation, and sustainability of the
various companywide initiatives.

Applicants will be considered for multiple locations in CaliforniaQualificationsMinimum:

- BA/BS or equivalent experience (additional 4 years of experience in lieu of degree)
- 3 years of
relevant safety experience or related

- Initial professional certification (e.g., Associate Safety Professional, Occupational Health & Safety Technologist, Certified Utility Safety Professional)
- Solid knowledge of PG&E
safety procedures and the Code of Safe Practices
- Solid knowledge of Cal-OSHA general industry and construction safety orders and basic knowledge of other recognized safety regulations and standards (e.g., ANSI, NFPA, Fed-OSHA, etc)
- Proficient at
conducting and evaluating root cause analysis investigations and evaluating the effectiveness of corrective actions
- Proficient at conducting hazard evaluations for complex jobs and recommending appropriate controls
- Solid knowledge of key PG&E
organizations and their potential exposure to safety and health risks.
