We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Safety Systems Test Engineer in our Nuclear Automation product line.
Purpose of Position:
Perform testing activities on Instrumentation and Control for Safety Control Systems and Applications used in the Nuclear Power Generation Industry. This work will include the systems functional testing of the deliverable plant equipment. A successful candidate will be steadfast in ensuring test coverage related to the system requirements while also ensuring the use of process improvements related to Software and Systems Quality Assurance.
Major Responsibilities:
- Derive test plans and procedures from System Design and Software Requirements documents
- Facilitate execution of tests. Support root cause investigation of defects and coordinate defect tracking efforts
- Plan and maintain project schedules related to test plan development and execution
- Ensure requirements traceability to specific test cases
Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
- Minimum of BS in Electrical Engineering, BSEET, Computer Engineering degree or related field
- Minimum of 5 years experience in I&C design, test and/or quality assurance
- Working knowledge of software quality assurance practices and methodologies
- Demonstration of solid practices in the control of test execution records and bug tracking
- Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
Desired Knowledge and Skills:
- MS in Electrical Engineering or related field
- Nuclear Plant Operations background familiar with interacting with Safety Systems or Control Systems
- Experience with the design or testing of Nuclear Plant I&C systems
- Experience in safety related applications using redundant programmable logic controllers
- Use of DOORS in the development of requirements and traceability matrices
