Sales & Catering Coordinator Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group is the award-winning owner and operator of some of the most luxurious hotels, resorts and residences. Mandarin Oriental is a member of the Jardine Matheson group. The Mandarin Oriental, Atlanta, luxury hotel comprises 127 spacious guestrooms and suites. Facilities include an all-day dining restaurant and lounge bar, as well as a wide selection of meeting rooms, including a 130-seat ballroom. The extensive spa facilities are complete with 14 treatment rooms and will feature signature therapies for which Mandarin Oriental spas are renowned. Overview It is the mission and intent of this position that the Sales & Catering Coordinator will assist in the development, organization and execution of systems within the Sales and Catering departments. The Sales & Catering Coordinator will be responsible for providing information, assisting in the daily operation of the Sales and Catering departments as well as the maintenance of all sales records. This individual will also maintain and update the Delphi system and communicate related information to colleagues. The administrative requirements of this position will not be limited to assisting with administrative needs; processing proposals, contracts and resumes related to group events; providing customer service for internal and external clients; entering, maintaining and sorting sales and catering data; as well as general office projects under the direction of Sales & Catering Managers. The Sales Coordinator will report to the Director of Sales & Marketing, Sales Managers and Catering Managers. Summary of Responsibilities: Qualify general inquiries, respond professionally, and direct to appropriate sales person Respond to inquiries from customers in the absence of direct sales personnel Support sales managers providing efficiencies to influence productivity and revenue for the hotel Ensure prompt and courteous service is extended to both internal and external customers Maintain positive relationships with all guests, vendors, colleagues and global sales network Has a complete knowledge of hotel's services and facilities Sales & Catering Administration: Assist with maintenance of account, contact, activity and business details within Delphi according to Mandarin Oriental standards Maintain current sales and promotional literature Coordinate the distribution of pertinent information to all pertinent departments within hotel Prepare and disseminate reports daily, weekly and monthly as needed. Provide clerical duties as required (i.e. typing, filing, etc. to assigned sales colleagues) Attend resume, BEO and sales meetings as needed. Other Responsibilities Maintain an orderly and positive working environment Other duties and projects, as assigned Requirements Bachelor's degree in hospitality, business or related field Excellent typing and organizational skills Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality Detail oriented with ability to coordinate with multiple tasks. Strong computer literacy to include: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc. Capability to use Excel to generate and interpret data reports on business volume from sales territory and individual sales progress reports Excellent communication skills both written/verbal in the English language Confident in high levels of interaction with internal and external clients High degree of stamina, agility and flexibility Ability of presenting themselves with an uplifting personality Self-starter providing support to influence sales manager performance and productivity Strong level of professionalism must be displayed at all times (ref. 48369)
