Award winning Country Inn & Suites By Carlson in the heart of Silicon Valley is seeking an energetic and detail oriented full-time Sales & Catering Manager who is looking to be a part of our fun and dynamic work environment. This role will be responsible for generating new business and growing existing revenues within the customer base of assigned market segments for Country Inn & Suites - Sunnyvale. Responsibilities: * Responsible for the specific group sale segments and social catering bookings. * Implement and execute an aggressive and concise Sales and Catering Action Plan with measurable objectives * Achieve individual and team goals within assigned market segment * Maintain proper flow of information within the hotel by reviewing sales work file of assigned accounts * Identify qualified new business opportunities through prospecting * Utilizes Brand Tools and programs to effectively sell Country Inn & Suites * Generate in a short period of time a growing and incremental revenue stream * Manages customer satisfaction within assigned account base * Stay competitive in the market by keeping up to date on area hotel rates, programs, corporate businesses and occupancy * This position reports to the Director of Sales * Develops and implements strategies for achieving individual catering sales goals * Contacts potential business in local banquet market through appointments or cold calls * Determines group market catering needs * Clarifies customer requirements and suggests alternative menus, themes, etc. * Prepares proposals for client which outline details of proposed functions; coordinates preparation of estimates with other food and beverage departments * Negotiates sale of catering sales functions Requirements: * High degree of integrity * MUST HAVE at least three years current experience prospecting and selling to the corporate transient industry * Thorough understanding of distribution channels and RFP process * Outstanding presentation and communications skills, both oral and written * Focused customer qualifying and business negotiation experience * Professional credentials and a personal style that will open doors at the top of potential customer organizations * Technical Skills: Proficient in MS Software, i.e. Excel, Word, Power Point * Knowledge of CRM sales database (Opera and Delphi) * Knowledge of web browsers and search engine research practices * Ability to learn quickly in a new position
