Job Description
Serve as the technical design and architectural expert across Verizon Business' Security solutions portfolio. This role encompasses the continuum of participating in setting specific customer strategies and executing the defined strategies within a sales environment. Qualified candidates will possess multiple years of experience in the communications and/or network industry in a sales-oriented, technical design and engineering role, with an emphasis enterprise wide security solutions.andbull; Focus on solution development and architectural design for assigned customer base with specific emphasis on Verizon Business' global managed services and communications solutions portfolio.andbull; Extensive expertise in Managed Security Services, Networking, Security Policy and Security Consulting. andbull; Solid understanding of current compliance, regulatory and legal mandates imposed on enterprise customers such as PCI, HIPPA, SOX, GLBandbull; Translate customer business issues/opportunities into technical solution/business requirementsandbull; Serve as a deal architect for multi-faceted, multi-technology solutionsandbull; Partner with other Verizon Business subject matter experts to build the customer solution andbull; Possess strong presentation skills, with the ability to develop and deliver technical presentations with customers and tailor content to audience as appropriateandbull; Author and deliver network designs, statements of work and technical project plans incorporating service and program management activities. andbull; An understanding of pricing structures and associated elements including Service Level Agreements (SLAs)andbull; As a Subject Matter Expert in a given technology, should be able to address customer opportunities in the domain of expertise the vast majority of the timeandbull; Possess a solid understanding of the competitive landscape and have the ability to clearly articulate the technical differentiation and value proposition associated with Verizon Business versus its competitors.Qualifications: andbull; BS or BA in Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent work experienceandbull; 5+ years in customer facing positions (sales, sales engineering, consulting) orandbull; 5+ years architecture experience in conceptualization, definition and development of Information Security based solutions and services with verifiable instances of architecting one or more of the following:o Managed Security Solutionso Identity and Access Management solutionso Governance, Compliance and Risk solutions including PCI o Threat and vulnerability solutionso Cloud or SaaS based security solutionsandbull; Strong knowledge of network, communications and mobility protocolsandbull; Working knowledge of switching, routing and server equipment/appliances andbull; Current industry certifications are desirable. o Some examples are: - CISSP- CISA, CISM, CWSP, GIAC, ISSEP, ISSMP, CEH, CRISC, CGEIT- ITILv3, COBITandbull; Demonstrated and verifiable track record of prior successful customer engagements. Examples of statements of work and/or technical project plans are required. andbull; Excellent presentation skills. Ability to present both technical and non-technical information to broad audiences andbull; This position requires excellent interpersonal skills to effectively work in a team environment and explain complex system solutions customers. Effective written communication skills. Highly motivated, self-starter o The successful candidate will support a staff of company's sales professionals by providing customer needs analysis, engineering and design of technical solutions, pricing and proposal assistance, technical presentations, technical consultation to internal and external customers, and to assist as the technical closer on salesopportunities.Additional Qualifications: andbull; Experience in technical sales or service to Fortune 1000 companiesandbull; Successful project delivery in a Fortune 1000 companyandbull; Bachelor Degree or equivalent experience; 5+ years telecommunications, IT industry or systems integration experience.
