SUMMARY
As a Sales Manager you are a member of the Tobacco Division team. You will conduct business according to the details of your job description and the Ho-Chunk, Inc. manual, making the customer our # 1 priority. This position will provide full sales support of a responsible nature for our marketing team. Please be advised that in this position you will be in the business of selling and promoting tobacco.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Ability to develop a marketing and travel budget, sales goals and forecasting
Evaluates changes in the marketplace, product and value-added service offerings, buying processes, and competitors for purposes of defining and adjusting the assigned account base, sales strategies, and specific call objectives. Planning includes monthly analysis and comparison of results achieved versus quotas
Provides information and answers to questions about company products, product application, pricing, inventory, policies, and procedures that impact business transactions
Coordinates sales activities as needed, technical, inside sales, or customer service personnel and vendors on price negotiations, systems or support needs, customer problem resolutions, and inter-company coordination
Keep current with new company services and products
Review ongoing performance results and identify needs of employees
Implement coaching or mentoring partnership as appropriate
Ability to manage and maintain sales with current customers
Ability to plan, manage the sales force, and carry out daily activity
Network ideas with other Tobacco Division managers to create better efficiencies and more profitability
Exceed customer’s expectations by representing exceptional value
Be aware of and maintain the Chain of Command at all times
Assist and train others in areas or subjects in which you are more experienced or educated
Work as a team to complete tasks assigned by your supervisor
Manage all accounts and customer activity through CRM software
Manage all sales representatives activity through CRM software
Place Point of Sales (POS) appropriately: Increase sales for customers
Inquire what other competitive prices are in that market, competitive edge
Strategize with customers about innovative ways to increase market share
Develop sales team through field visits with reps
Make monthly sales calls to regional customers every quarter
Provide accurate forecasting input

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Detail oriented, self-motivated, and able to meet deadlines
Ability to prioritize workloads, solve problems quickly, and interact with others to achieve efficient, seamless workflow
Ability to communicate effectively and professionally
High degree of poise and professionalism
Knowledge in tobacco industry products
Distributor sales team knowledge and skills
Ability to travel 50% of the time to other territories
Experience using Microsoft Office required
Ability to utilize sales software required
Maintains a valid Driver’s License and be insurable under company insurance provider/program.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) in Business Administration, Sales or a related field is required. Two or more years of experience and/or training required; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
