Position Summary As a Sales Representative in F5 Data Solutions, you are responsible for selling F5's ARX Virtualization Products and Professional Services to new prospects in an assigned territory. A successful candidate must develop a strong understanding of the F5 Data Solutions value proposition in addition to executing upon an enterprise class sales campaign to Fortune 500 companies. Carries an overlay quota.
Responsibilities
Responsible for upholding F5's Business Code of Ethics and for promptly reporting violations of the Code or other company policies
Generate new major accounts and closing sales opportunities utilizing superior presentation, management and negotiation skills
Develop new client relationships and leverage existing and past client relationships to build and manage a sustained pipeline of opportunities
Identify and qualify prospects by telephone, cold call, premise visits and networking
Develop proposals, respond to RFP's and conduct sales presentations for prospective customer
Effectively convey F5 Data Solutions value proposition and develop the relationship with qualified leads provided by inside sales to close business
Maintain a pipeline of qualified prospects sufficient to meet quarterly quota requirements
Maintain revenue and build new revenue within established account base
Successfully manage sales process that involves third party partners
Deal with complex negotiations at the executive level
Act as an internally recognized specialist on complex technical and business matters
Champion significant projects, programs and business initiatives using demonstrated creativity and ingenuity.
Generally not account-assigned; called into accounts as opportunities are identified and may work with account-assigned Sales Account Managers to close sale
Identify and cultivate joint partner opportunities for System Integrators or Value Added Resellers through product evangelism on a single product, provide partners with both sales and technical education
Form lasting relationship with key individuals within the Partner organization including Alliance Management, Product Management, Marketing and Sales
Manage and coordinate the sales and technical team in support of the sale of the company's products
Effectively communicate sales strategy and actions with assigned Territory Account Managers, Major Account Managers, Systems Engineering, Inside Sales, and Sales Management
Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications
5 to 8 years of field sales experience in data storage or similar industry
Storage virtualization experience is a plus
Bachelor of Arts or Sciences Degree or related field is required
Strong verbal and written communications skills, including presentation skills
Ability to work collaboratively with employees within department and across functions
Aptitude for understanding how technology products and solutions solve business problems
Ability to convey information clearly and provide analysis as needed to help customer make buying decisions
Familiarity with Enterprise Application software technologies and supportive infrastructure
Specialist in advanced technical and business skills
Individuals with a customer focus have developed the acumen to cultivate and develop lasting customer relations
Physical Demands and Work Environment Job may be performed on-site at a customer facility or data center, or in an office environment sitting at a desk or computer table. Duties require the ability to utilize a computer, communicate over the telephone, and read printed material. Duties may require being on call periodically and working outside normal working hours (evenings and weekends). Duties require the ability to travel up to 80% via automobile and airplane, and may require being on call periodically and working outside normal working hours (evenings and weekends). Job requires the ability to lift up to 50 lbs
