Job Description

Position: A Representative is responsible for daily sales calls on existing customers with emphasis on selling installed floor covering products and services. Representatives also present products to architects, designers, and other end users. You will work with design firms to produce samples for specific projects and analyze all leads provided by sales management. Additionally, a Representative must continually prospect for viable new accounts while developing a key awareness of what is happening within their marketplace. Responsibilities:
- Compile list of prospective customers for use as sales leads.
- Work with suppliers, architects, designers, building owners, tenants and contractors to choose products that fit their budget.
- Cultivate relationships with general contractors, end users and architects that have use for our products and services.
- Give presentations to architects, designers and end users to educate them on the flooring industry and how Spectra can be a benefit to them on their projects. Presentations should also include information about the installation and maintenance of the flooring.
- Ensure that all of the appropriate paperwork is accurate and complete. This includes: contracts, change orders, and purchase orders.
- Manage projects in conjunction with the project coordinator or installation supervisor.
- Submit quotes with material and labor pricing to new or potential clients.
- Work with scheduling and project coordinator to help solve problems and ensure that the jobs are installed properly.Required:
- A High School Diploma / GED is required.
- Previous sales experience is required.
- Must have a valid driver's license and be able to operate a motorized vehicle. Preferred:
- A bachelor's degree in marketing, construction management or business is preferred.
- Knowledge of the floor covering industry and knowledge of flooring products sold is preferred.
- Candidate already living within or familiar with the territory preferred.
- Read and comprehend blueprints is preferred.
