Specific Responsibilities and Skills
Gilead Sciences seeks an experienced Web apps and Mobile Lead responsible for building and managing a SFDC CoE including planning, business process, technology standards, delivery, change management and governance. This team is also responsible for expanding the Mobile Web footprint into a Native or Hybrid apps leveraging platforms such as SalesForce1 Mobile App Development Platform and Capriza.
This role will oversee building and maintaining the SFDC CoE and Partner with Architecture, Security, Integration Lead and various Business IT functions in designing, developing and maintaining apps and lead a team of platform administrators and app leads/developers to ensure the adoption, stability and utility of apps worldwide. We are looking for a Lead who has in-depth understanding of Force.com ecosystem and good understanding of cross platform mobile development preferably in life sciences industry can help us understand our (internal) customer s, and work with the delivery team to turn those business needs into solutions with Mobile first mindset. This role will create and promote strategies that support long term business goals, anticipate tactical needs and maximize value out of the Salesforce platform. Role will also manage platform demand management and governance; oversee development standards which include UX, app development, test automation, release guidelines, and documentation to help Business get the most out of their platform investment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND JOB FUNCTIONS
Essential Duties and Job Functions
Integrates resources effectively, including resources under the direct control, or controlled by contractors, vendors, etc.
Manages the team s budget.
Establishes short term operational decisions typically within a one-year time frame.
Takes a business approach to planning, coordinating, scheduling and managing resources, considering the future needs of the business, as well as functional and organizational polices and precedents.
Continually improves work procedures and processes for unit managed.
Focuses on managerial concerns of the area such as cost, completion date, and resource allocation. Implement and maintain SFDC CoE governance structure in partnership with business stakeholders and IT including dashboards, standards and metrics
Serves as the Platform lead and the primary point of contact for SFDC App portfolio and Mobile initiatives.
Lead and oversee all components of Salesforce CoE and programs within it including business process & analysis, development systems testing, change management & training, release, data management and success measurement.
Partners with Security, Integration Lead and various Business IT to maintain the overall technology reference architecture, ensure the effectiveness of App lifecycle governance processes.
Lead the development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of architecture definitions, reusable platform assets, templates, best practices and methodologies to maintain the integrity of the Salesforce platform
Maintain an overall knowledge of the Salesforce product stack and AppExchange apps relevant to Life science industry
Ensure execution meets all App Development technical schedules and confirming the delivered solution meets the business needs.
Manage a geographically distributed team and ensure the team consistently meets or exceeds performance metrics.
Lead and proactively work with Vendors and internal team to ensure delivery on-time and quality
KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
Education & Experience
3+ years of leading SalesForce initiatives or overseeing a major SFDC CoE practice
Experience managing people and a demonstrated ability to evaluate balance team and individual workload effective time management, prioritization and management skills
Strong stakeholder management, project management, facilitation skills and ability to influence senior management
Led Innovation, continuous improvement and created success framework in SFDC platform.
Experience in deploying and rolling out cross platform mobile app development SalesForce1 platform.
Exposure to Enterprise Mobile Apps and knowledge of other MBaaS or Mobile Cross platform such as Xamarin or Capriza is a plus.
Strong business and technology acumen; solid understanding of general IT services, processes, measures and related capabilities.
Engages with the Business IT and/or customer to seek deeper appreciation of the customer s business problem/goals.
Exposure to CFR 21 Part 11, Computer System Validation and GxP Compliance.
Industry background in Pharmaceutical / Life Sciences is a plus.
Self-motivated, Customer and Delivery focused.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects and priorities
Excellent written and spoken interpersonal communication skill.
Education & Experience
Typical candidates will possess 6+ years of relevant experience and BA/BS Degree or equivalent OR 4+ years of relevant experience, with an advanced degree or equivalent In-depth understanding of SFDC product stack, cloud technologies and prior experience with SalesForce1 mobile deployment for large enterprise.
