We are currently seeking qualified intern candidates to participate in our paid Fall 2016 Internship Program within the Packaging Department.
The Samples and Structural Packaging Intern will be responsible for assisting the packaging designers in development of innovative retail packaging solutions, corrugated displays, and supportive package inserts. Will also assist in the assembly of all packaging samples to support in-house presentations and sales shows.
Interpret and transform sketches into 2D dielines using current CAD software.
Utilize digital cutting table to cut package structure for planograms presentations and sales shows.
Mount self-adhesive graphic print outs onto white packaging structures, and packing out foam core photo representations of product into a 3-dimensonal package.
Locate graphics and structure files from various sources and locations.
Organize and track requests to ensure graphics and structures are available to assemble.
Maintain quality control standards for all samples produced.
Assist in any photography needs.
Experience, Education & Skills
Experience or working knowledge in developing 2D package dielines using current CAD software
Familiar in operating a Kongsberg cutting table.
Should possess a working knowledge of materials and processes used in package production and assembly processes.
Familiar use of 3-D design programs like Solidworks is a plus.
Knowledge of MAC OS, Microsoft office and applications such as Photoshop and Illustrator.
Able to effectively manage multiple projects in a fast paced environment.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and strict attention to detail.
Must be a self-starter who takes initiative and has a proactive approach to work.
Qualified Candidate will be working towards a BS degree in Packaging Engineering, Packaging Science, or Industrial Design and will have completed a minimum 2 years of undergraduate study.
