SANCTIONS PROJECT MANAGER

The Sanctions Project Manager supports the Sanctions Team by serving as the Subject Matter Expert ( SME ) for Sanctions related projects and initiatives. Primary responsibilities include data and business process analysis to identify potential sanctions risks or areas for improvement by working closely with technology and business partners; ongoing assessment of project progress and managing projects through to completion or implementation; ongoing review and assessment of sanctions screening results for quality or areas for improvement.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

* Formulating, recommending and driving the implementation of process and/or systemic improvements

* Translating potentially complex requests or requirements into business oriented communication

* Develop and/or review project plans and track project progress accordingly.Including:

* Define project scope and objectives

* Conduct project meetings and be responsible for project tracking and analysis

* Ensure adherence to quality standards and review project deliverables

* Liaising with business and systems counterparts that contribute to sanctions related projects and initiatives to ensure successful completion

* Analyzing, interpreting and supporting the documentation of firm wide processes or applications and corresponding sanctions screening/controls

* Co-ordinate and participate in User Acceptance Testing associated with sanctions screening projects or filter enhancements

* Draft or provide SME input to business requirements documents

* Ensuring Sanctions related procedures are updated to incorporate required changes resulting from process and technology changes related to project completion

* Review historical sanction alert patterns to identify false positive trends and areas for reduction through systemic rules

* Identify and communicate impacts to resources (people) or processes associated with project initiatives or other changes

* Monitor project progress and work closely with stakeholders to ensure requirements are understood and deliverables are met

* Coordinate with management and technology to ensure projects are appropriately prioritized based upon program needs and associated risks

* Ensures timely completion of all mandatory training requirements

* Stays abreast of regulatory changes and news, with an emphasis on OFAC/Sanctions related developments

* Provide appropriate end user training associated with system changes or other project results

QUALIFICATIONS:

* Undergraduate degree required

* 5-7 years of related experience,preferably within a compliance function

* Strong organizational and analytical skills, including the ability to identify, asses and recommend solutions to problems

* Ability to multi-task and prioritize varying workload

* Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills

* Demonstrated ability to work across business lines

* Knowledge of Fircosoft, or similar sanctions screening/filtering application preferred
