Job Description

Technician (75%):

* Receive, analyze and process electro-mechanical defective products returned from field

* Use problem solving and root cause analysis techniques to troubleshoot electro-mechanical and electronics based products

* Isolate PCB issues to component level through analysis of digital and analog circuits using standard test equipment (oscilloscope, network analyzer, digital multi-meter)

* Interpret/navigate electronic schematics for products with purpose of gaining understanding of circuit operation and identifying product failures

* Work with technical databases (ie. MS Access, Sharepoint) to ensure accuracy of data and technical documentation

* Communicate effectively with Electro-Mechanical Product Engineering on product issues, procedures and rocesses

* Create new and update existing test procedures and test fixtures to improve efficiency of root cause analysis process

Inspection (25%):

* Responsible for incoming, in-process and final inspection for electro-mechanical and electronic products

* Perform visual inspection, dimensional measurements and functional testing of electronic PCBs and sub-assemblies

* Conduct first article inspections and document findings

* Act as customer interface for in-house product acceptance

* Conduct on-going inspections of manufactured parts and components

* Record and report results demonstrating that product has been manufactured in accordance with established quality standards

* Capture inspection data, including defect data to support quality metrics

* Interface with supply chain, product development and manufacturing teams

* Create, organize and maintain related QA/QC documentation

* Follow processes required to maintain inventory integrity

* Utilize inventory control system to route product through inspection process

Qualifications:

* Minimum of ASEE/ASEET degree

* Experience working with electrical/electronic and mechanical test and measurement equipment

* Experience working with micrometers, calipers, scopes, logic and spectrum analyzers, LCR meter and geometric tolerances

* Ability to read schematics

* General knowledge of:

* Analog and digital circuit fundamentals

* 8/16/32 bit microcontrollers

* Embedded firmware

* Proficiency with MS Office Suite, especially MS Access and Excel

* Familiarity with regulatory compliance standards: FCC, UL, CE, RoHS

* Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team in a fast-paced environment

* Ability to work on multiple assignments concurrently

* Ability to travel 10-15% (as required)
