The Opportunity

As a part of the Assay Development team, the Scientist will serve as a key player in this high visibility group. The Company recently achieved CE Mark and is on the cusp of launching our new ePlex system in the US. This unique career opportunity will support the Assay Development Scientists in all phases of product development from technical feasibility through post market surveillance. This role will work hand in hand with assay development teams to produce highly multiplexed assays for our ePlex platform. The ideal candidate must be able to work in a collaborative research team that is focused on bringing cutting edge diagnostics to market. Primarily responsible for researching, designing primers and troubleshooting PCR-based assays. The Role

* Design and troubleshoot PCR-based assays.

* Perform bioinformatics analysis of experimental data produced by the development of multiplex PCR and/or reverse-transcriptase-PCR assays.

* Conduct data mining over internally produced and publicly available data sets.

* Develop and maintain high performance computational platform for sequence data analysis pipeline.

* Provide bioinformatics support for commercially available molecular diagnostics test devices.

* Provide clear and concise information to upper management to aid in decision making.

* Ability and desire to work in a molecular biology lab.

Requirements Education

* BS or Master s Degree in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Bioinformatics or related discipline from an accredited college or university with minimum of 5 years of experience as a Scientist in the medical diagnostics arena; or PhD in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Bioinformatics or related discipline.

Required Experience

* Experience with running PCR, qPCR assays on the bench and analyzing the data generated from PCR.

* The ability to analyze large data sets efficiently, identify trends and implement solutions quickly.

* Experience with In-Vitro Diagnostics (IVD) highly desirable.

* The desire to work in a highly collaborative fast paced work environment.

* Knowledge of safety precautions required for working with blood borne pathogens at Biosafety Level 1 and 2.

* Superior written and verbal communication skills.

* Scripting or programming (R, Python, Pearl) experience is a plus.
