JOB DESCRIPTIONAPPLY AGTC is seeking a highly motivated individual who will be responsible for developing new assays related to the analysis of preclinical and clinical samples in support drug development for therapeutic applications in ophthalmology, otology, CNS and other diseases. The Scientist will implement a scientific plan, working independently in the laboratory with minimal supervision
The Scientist will report directly to the Assistant Director of Assay Development , Preclinical R&D
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Creatively design, develop and qualify new methods through literature review and scientific teamwork for potency and immunogenicity testing of AAV gene therapy products
Hands-on laboratory research activities including optimization and execution of existing assays for sample analysis in support of IND enabling non-clinical animal studies. This also includes in vitro cell-based assays, immunoassays, and molecular assays (e.g. RT-PCR ,ELISA, IHC, etc.)
Write and review assay development reports and SOPs for assay transfer and validation
Draft study reports and manuscripts, and present results at scientific meetings
Observe and comply with AGTC s Employee Manual and Safety & Quality Manual
Conduct work using good laboratory safety practices, complying with, OSHA policies and EPA standards
