Job Description CDS Scientist, Cell Design Studio:

A CDS Scientist is needed for execution of custom development projects and product development for Cell Design Studio (CDS). This is a customer-facing R&D group, with expertise in molecular biology, mammalian genetics, genome editing, advanced cell biology and cell culture. This position is being created to support increased demand for custom cell line engineering.

Essential Job Functions:

The CDS Scientist will be responsible for executing CDS projects under supervision of the senior or principal scientist. This position requires a combination of intensive laboratory work, ability to generate and deliver scientific reports, and effective communication within and outside of the organization to advance and enhance CDS business positions. Candidate will work in a matrix environment as a member of a highly dynamic team, working on multiple projects and contributing to the development of current and future cell line engineering technologies and methods.


This position will require a M.S. (or equivalent) in molecular biology, cell biology, or related discipline. Demonstrated laboratory experience in multiple facets of cell biology, mammalian genetics, molecular biology, and tissue/cell culture is highly desired. The ability to work dynamically within a team environment is critical for this position. The successful candidate must thrive in a fast-paced team environment and be able to work efficiently on challenging projects with aggressive timelines. Strong communication and presentation skills are also required. Advanced training in mammalian cell culture and aseptic technique is critical, along with proficiency in standard and advanced molecular biology methods. Understanding of basic mechanisms of DNA repair and homologous recombination is highly desired and strongly preferred.
