Position will have varying field and office duties related to stream and wetland mitigation and other natural resource projects. Specific duties may include, but are not limited to, wetland and stream assessments, assisting in mitigation design work, preparation of permit applications, macroinvertebrate sampling, water quality sampling, plant identification, drafting/GIS, land survey (no license required), data management, and technical writing.
KCI s Natural Resources Southeast Practice is seeking a talented and motivated stream and wetland restoration specialist to work in our Brentwood, TN office on projects throughout the Southeast.
This position requires familiarity with site assessment through knowledge of Rosgen evaluation techniques, functional stream assessments, channel evolution, and fluvial processes. Experience with channel restoration design and construction oversight is preferred to fulfill this position.

3-7 years of professional experience related to ecological restoration and stream and wetland assessment.
Applied knowledge of the principles of geomorphology and a familiarity with natural resource permitting and mitigation is preferred. As is, experience with wetland delineation and natural resources assessments (wildlife, fisheries, aquatic biota, botanical).
Applicant should possess an understanding of wetland and/or stream assessment, design, and monitoring methodologies, state (Tennessee) and federal water quality permitting requirements, watershed hydrology, and construction techniques. Familiarity with GIS analysis and basic drafting; excellent written and oral communication skills; excellent organizational and time management; strong task management skills; strong interpersonal skills; research and analysis skills; ability to learn quickly.
DEGREES / LICENSES (R)EQUIRED (P)REFERRED
BS in Biology, Ecology, Environmental Science, Wildlife and Fisheries Management, Environmental or Water Resource Engineering or equivalent (R). MS in relevant fields a plus (P).
Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (PE) a plus (P).
Additional consideration to those with Professional Wetland Scientist registration, Certified Professional in Erosion and Sediment Control registration, Rosgen training, TN Hydrologic Determination registration, and formal GIS or CADD training.
Out-of-town and overnight travel will be required as part of this position. Performance of duties will, at times, include long field days and be physically strenuous.
Pre-employment drug testing, as well as a satisfactory driving record is required as a condition of employment.
