This NAVAR contract provides non-personal clerical,
secretarial, and/or administrative support services for
NRC. This position requires the successful completion of
a federal government background investigation.
The Secretary I independently carries out recurring
office procedures. The Secretary I selects the guideline
or reference which fits the specific case. He/she
receives specific instructions on new assignments and
has completed work reviewed for accuracy by NRC
employee. Generally, the Secretary I performs varied
duties including or comparable to one or more of the
Responds to routine telephone requests which have
standard answers; refers calls and visitors to
appropriate staff. Controls mail and assures timely
staff response; may send form letters;
As instructed, maintains calendars, makes appointments,
and arranges for meeting rooms;
Reviews materials prepared for approval for
typographical accuracy and proper format;
Maintains recurring internal reports, such as time and
leave records, office equipment listings, correspondence
controls, and training plans;
Obtains supplies, printing, maintenance, or other
available services. Types, takes and transcribes
dictation, and establishes and maintains office files.
Work hours are 8 AM 5 PM, Monday through Friday.
Strong written and oral communication skills,
organizational skills, and attention to detail.
Self-motivated with minimal oversight.
Computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel,
PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Must have authorization to work in the United States as
defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986.
High school diploma or equivalency
1 year of experience in an office environment.
Must successfully complete a skills test.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
Sit or Stand throughout the work day.
Ability to work on computer for long periods
