Job Description

The Director of Security leads the corporate security function to include responsibility for security strategy, security architecture development, and functional oversight. The scope covers all utilized security technologies and services, including protection services, perimeter defenses, physical and logical access control, and profile management of all employees, contractors and visitors. Additional scope includes enterprise-level responsibility for all security policies, standards, evaluations, roles, and awareness.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Ensure establishment, delivery, and review of corporate and government security programs that consists of the following key components:

*

Perform comprehensive security risk assessments of existing or potential facilities.
*

Maintain protection of facilities, including access control and/or guard services.
*

Provide liaison function to law enforcement/local government
*

Maintain threat identification program that identifies potential threats directed at the Client, its employees or its assets.
*

Maintain information security and intellectual property security programs to protect the company from loss and liability.
*

Conduct due diligence security inquiry support regarding RFP s or other partnership opportunities.
*

Understand corporate requirements related to security and regulatory compliance and to map those requirements to current security projects.
*

Maintain travel security and personal protection programs when appropriate to include providing country risk advisories for international travel and support to company personnel s activities in high risk countries (e.g. housing, escort protection services, transportation services, evacuation, etc.).
*

In coordination with other divisions, develop, coordinate and implement emergency and contingency plans for continuity of operations and other risk management scenarios
*

Develop and coordinate security training programs, i.e. workplace violence program.

*

Work with user and technical groups in the development and implementation of a security strategy designed to provide a high level of security over all corporate assets and physical facilities while preserving and enhancing facility and system usability.

Develop relationships with key government and law enforcement agencies, intelligence communities, private sector counterparts and vendors.
*

Be able to work alone and be self-reliant, demonstrating the ability to set challenging personal goals and the drive and determination to achieve them.

Develop and implement flexible security solutions dictated by the needs of a rapidly evolving global corporate structure.

Evaluate changes to the corporate environment for security impact and present findings to management.
*

Serve as the enterprise focal point for security incident response planning and execution as well as managing security-related incidents and investigations as required.
*

Develop and implement the Global Travel Security Program in coordination with the Client.
*

Develop and manage implementation of Global Security standards, policies and procedures.
*

Ensure the security program and strategy is aligned with the Client s overall business.
*

Oversee the development of and be the enterprise champion of security awareness and training programs.
*

Assist Internal Audit in the development of appropriate criteria needed to assess the level of new / existing applications and / or technology infrastructure elements for compliance with enterprise security standards.
*

Define and implement an ongoing Risk Assessment program, which will identify and classify critical assets, assess threats and vulnerabilities regarding those assets and implement safeguard recommendations.
*

Evaluate suspected security breaches and recommend corrective actions (including incidents involving outside vendors).
*

Prepare operating budgets and optimize resources by forecasting future security funding needs of the organization.

QUALIFICATIONS:

*

A Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree in a related field.
*

An advanced degree in related study is a plus.
*

At least ten to twelve years of security management experience implementing security policies and requirements in a manner consistent with business and legal imperatives and internal / external cultural nuances.
*

Possess broad global experience in the key areas of investigations and protective services, as well as managerial experience in public / private security programs, and functional knowledge and expertise in core competencies of security operations, crisis management and investigations.
*

Possess strong leadership skills, demonstrated in a position of substantial responsibility that required management of a geographically disparate and remote staff.
*

Possess strong inter-personal skills.
*

Possess ability to influence at all levels, gain trust of business leaders and others to discuss and respond to sensitive issues.
*

Possess CPP certification.
*

Department of Defense Clearance.
*

Experience leading corporate security for a company or corporate division for a large multi-national organization.
*

An autonomous results-oriented person who can achieve tangible improvements in the corporate security arena.
*

Possess excellent technical & communications skills, as well as proven security leadership experience and experience in working directly with senior corporate executives.
*

Possess an undergraduate degree in a relevant course of study, as well as a breadth of formal training, certifications, and associations in corporate security.
