Southern Maryland Hospital is actively recruiting for a full time Security Officer. The purpose of the Security Officer is to support the mission of the hospital; ensure the safety of all incumbents on hospital property. The security officer must possess excellent customer service skills, ability to walk and stand for long periods of time, respond quickly to all unforeseen incidents on the hospital grounds and direct all vehicle traffic coming and leaving. Write detailed narrative reports, enforce rules, regulations policies procedures and respond to emergency situations requiring security assistance. This position will be assigned a shift however you must be able work all shifts if needed.
Requirements:


Must be 21 years of age.

Must possess a valid drivers license.

Must have high school diploma or equivalent.

No prior record of felony convictions or domestic violence.

Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written.

5 years minimum military, police or security experience is preferred in a healthcare environment.
