The Security Officer is responsible for the safety and security of guests, employees and their property. This includes supporting other department activities to help assure the highest levels of guest and employee service. The Security Officer will also help guide and support the administration of, and training on, safety and security functions for both other security officers and the employees. BASIC FUNCTION: Members of the Safety and Security team are responsible for the security of the Hotel and its assets. They are also responsible for the safety of the Hotels teammates, guests and visitors. WORK SCHEDULE: The Safety and Security Department is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This particular position is for the night shift that works 11:00 pm until 7:30 am. QUALIFICATIONS: High school graduate or equivalent. Prior law enforcement or other military experience preferred. Prior hotel security experience and/or experience in the hospitality industry a plus. First Aid/AED/CPR training preferred or obtainable. Ability to accomplish necessary tasks on a computer. Ability to effectively communicate with teammates, guests, and visitors. All Security personnel must have a clear Criminal Background and DMV record. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Makes regularly scheduled rounds of the property. Meets with guests and/or employees regarding safety and/or security incidents. Monitors visitors and vendors and issues badges to same Assist with opening guest rooms and meeting rooms as needed. Check employee bags Assist with luggage when bellmen are not present or available. Assists with valet form 12am until 5 am Issue radios, master and hard keys for employees Completing daily activity reports and incident reports. Respond to fire panel when activated Respond to medical call and incident calls MARGINAL FUNCTIONS: Perform other job functions when assigned to ensure guest expectations are exceeded.
