This is a position with FirstEnergy Service Co., a subsidiary of FirstEnergy Corp [SC00] This is a position within the Asset Protection group and is located in Reading, PA. The Security Specialist is responsible for implementing company-wide strategies and policies to protect company personnel and assets from loss, damage or injury. Responsibilities include:
- Developing external relationships with local, state and federal agencies to provide guidance and support when dealing with regulatory requirements and suspected criminal activity - Researching, developing and supporting corporate policies, standards and procedures under federal, state and regulatory requirements relating to Critical Infrastructure Security under Homeland Defense Standards - Providing vulnerability and physical security assessments at FirstEnergy facilities - Conducting internal and external investigations - Delivering security awareness training as needed
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Law, Criminal Justice or related field required. Advanced degree a plus. - Minimum 7 years professional work experience required with experience in the security field preferred. - Experience could include the industrial or corporate sector, law enforcement and military. - Proficiency in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) - Knowledge of all facets of security equipment, methods and procedures - Exhibit dynamic leadership skills to influence culture change regarding security initiatives - Customer focused vision and innovative thinking to create positive and motivated environment - Outstanding written and oral communication skills - Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills with demonstrated ethical behavior - Ability to work independently with minimal supervision - Ability to interact effectively within a team and with different business functions
