Security Systems, Intern

The Corporate Security department is responsible for protecting all JetBlue Crewmembers, Customers, properties and corporate assets. The team provides security services and conducts investigations and security risk management.

The Security Systems Intern provides direct support to JetBlue Security initiatives by supporting the Security Systems Team in the development of materials in support of the planning and execution of Security projects. With the guidance of a Security Systems Manager the Security Systems Intern assists with the creation and renewal of JetBlue ID cards for JetBlue s network of 94+ cities, as well as applying various security accesses and retaining associated records. The Security Systems Intern may occasionally serve as the project lead on smaller, well-defined projects or provide support to Systems Managers in project initiation activities.

Essential Responsibilities:

* Develop materials to support current and future processes (i.e. documentation, communications, workflows, presentations, etc.)

* Assist with creating Crew Member s ID cards, and Orientation coverage

* Act as a liaison at the Concierge desk

* Act as day-to-day support on team s initiatives

* Respond to ad-hoc requests for internal and/or external customers to ensure alignment of projects and initiatives

* Other duties as assigned

Minimum Experience and Qualifications:

* Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from an accredited college or university in related field

* Strong attention to detail

* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills

* Some experience with Security Systems or Networking

* Available for occasional overnight travel (15%)

* Able to work flexible hours and be available on short notice

* Able to provide official transcript and pass a pre-employment drug test

Preferred Experience and Qualifications:

* Passionate about Airline industry and JetBlue

* Strong attention to detail

* Strong organization and time management skills

* Strong team building and interpersonal skills

* Previous Security System Experience

Crewmember Expectations:

* Regular attendance and punctuality

* Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short-notice

* Well groomed and able to maintain a professional appearance

* When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft

* Must be an appropriate organizational fit for the JetBlue culture, that is, exhibit the JetBlue values of Safety, Caring, Integrity, Passion and Fun

* Promote JetBlue s #1 value of safety as a Safety Ambassador, supporting JetBlue s Safety Management System (SMS) components, Safety Policy and behavioral standards

* Identify safety concerns, issues, incidents or hazards that should be reported and report them whenever possible and by any means necessary including JetBlue s confidential reporting systems (Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP) or Safety Action Report(SAR))
