Our client is seeking an energetic, determine Senior Accountant with Public accounting experience. Commercial finance or equipment financing background is strongly preferred.

Run down of what YOU will be doing:
' Participate in month-end close process, including general ledger reconciliation and analysis. This will include reconciliation and analysis of balance sheet accounts, as well as profit and loss accounts.
' Research and perform analysis of change in general ledger account balances / analysis of month and year-end results for management.
' Prepare and post monthly journal entries in Great Plains accounting software.
' Prepare and review the month and year-end financial statements including footnote disclosures in accordance with GAAP.
' Assist with the compilation of the month-end reporting package for upper management.
' Manage the year-end financial statement audit and periodic bank audits.
' Assist with preparation of miscellaneous month-end accounting duties.
' Prepare schedules and participate in year-end audit.
' Create, evaluate, and maintain updated internal control and accounting policies.
' Assist heavily with automation & streamlining of existing accounting procedures with the goal of implementing best practices.
' Serve as a resource in all aspects of accounting, including technical research.
' Attend and participate in meetings and committees as appropriate, such as the ISO 9001 committee.
' Represent the Company to various trade professionals and groups, and ensure the Company's professional reputation is maintained.
You MUST HAVE: Minimum of 3-5 years of continuous accounting experience; 2-3 years of public accounting (this is NON-NEGOTIABLE); a strong understanding of accounting principles/GAAP; stock-based compensation/FASB 123R and other equity transactions; revenue recognition, including revenue derived from the sale of extended warranties; inventory transactions/valuation and analysis of reserves; knowledge of Microsoft Great Plains, Lease Plus, FRX and Crystal Reports preferred; Bachelor's degree.
