What does a Senior Account do and what are we looking for?
Senior accountants are normally CPAs or CPA candidates who have demonstrated leadership qualities, effective communication, and a strong commitment to the firm.
Senior accountants have demonstrated abilities to carry out duties of staff accountants and handle other more complex situations and engagements.
Senior accountants can perform most engagements with little supervision.
Senior Accountants may also help direct and train staff accountants and are capable of making decisions on most accounting, tax and auditing matters.

If so you will expected to do the following on the job tasks;
?Accept all responsibility for routine engagements
?Make basic decisions regarding routine work without supervisor?s input
?Identify problems early in engagements and deal with such problems in a prompt and efficient manner
?Handle multiple tasks simultaneously, accurately, and efficiently with minimal supervision, while still meeting deadlines
?Accept increasing responsibility for engagement, business correspondence, and some research with little input from supervisor
?Maintain communication with supervisors, managers and partners to ensure that the work process is continuing in an organized, efficient and professional manner
?Develop relationships with clients
?Become proficient at tax and accounting research including a knowledge of the reference sources available
?Possess technical knowledge sufficient to supervise staff accountants
?Know and understand the firms? policies and procedures
?Begin developing a command of pertinent IRC sections and regulations
Senior accountants normally must have at least a college undergraduate degree and have completed at least 30 hours in college-level accounting courses.
