DescriptionWe are currently hiring a Senior Accountant to join our team! This position is a vital element of the Management Support Team as he or she will contribute to the successful day-to-day operations and long term growth of Enterprise Accounting overall. This role will have a strong focus on fixed assets, inventory and intercompany. The ideal candidate has excellent communication and problem solving skills. This candidate will also have the ability to work under tight deadlines and provide a high level of customer service and analytics as well as have expertise in Accounting, Oracle Financials, HFM and Excel.

Key Responsibilities:

Monitor project costs to ensure appropriate classification of capital or operational expenses.
Process all asset related transactions timely in the system and ensure the integrity of the Fixed Asset listing.
Process all inter and intra company related transactions timely in the system.
Prepare and review monthly reconciliations in Blackline for assigned accounts.
Provide information for the preparation of property tax returns and process payments.
Provide information for the preparation of sales and use tax returns and payments.
Prepare and review inventory for newspaper locations.
Work with corporate and field accounting to resolve any reconciliation issues.
Recommend and create new Blackline rules to reduce exceptions.
Ensure that internal and external customers are provided with timely and accurate assistance. to facilitate good operational controls and minimize expenses.
Cross-train in other areas of the Enterprise Accounting department.
Participate in the month end close process as assigned.
Work on special projects and prepare ad hoc reports and analysis as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Bachelor s degree in Accounting required.
3+ years of accounting experience
Competent in accounting and financial practices and procedures.
Strong communication and written skills.
Good problem solving and organizational skills.
Able to maintain effectiveness in changing work responsibilities and environment.
Ability to quickly learn and apply new job related information.
1 year of experience in Fixed Assets, Project Accounting or Property Tax Experience
Experience with either Oracle Financials, Hyperion Financial Management, and Microsoft Office preferred.
