JOB DESCRIPTIONBASIC SUMMARY:
Responsible for creating and entering the transactional activities for fixed assets accounting. Assist in developing global processes for fixed assets as well as continuous improvement activities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Complete monthly balance sheet and sub-ledger reconciliations
Create and monitor a system of controls, procedures, and forms for properly recording fixed assets.
Recommend updates to accounting policies related to fixed assets.
Track company expenditures for fixed assets in comparison to the capital budget and management authorizations.
Update the detailed schedule of fixed assets and accumulated depreciation.
Organize and maintain records of all fixed asset purchases.
Maintain current knowledge pertaining to guidelines surrounding Fixed Assets.
Create CER (Capital Expense Requests) reports.
Create monthly analytics (fixed asset roll-forward, balance sheet flux analysis, working capital forecasts, etc).
Assist in periodic physical inventory counts of fixed assets.
Review P&L accounts for misclassified fixed assets and proposed adjustments as required.
Create monthly fixed asset entries.
Work closely with various teams in the company (finance, tax, treasury, accounts payable, etc) to ensure compliance.
Maintain documentation in accordance with SOX requirements.
Assist with process improvement activities.
Perform all other related duties as assigned.
EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) or equivalent in business, management or related discipline.
EXPERIENCE: Two to four years fixed asset related experience and training (Life Science industry preferred).
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above.
OTHER: Knowledge of SAPrequired. Working knowledge of SOX requirements. Expert knowledge of Excel required. Self-starter and ability to work independently.
