Job Description

Summary:

Responsible for recording, balancing and analyzing assigned general ledger accounts. Prepare financial statements, reports, and detailed reconciliations. Maintains all GL financial transactions for assigned facilities in accordance with federal and state regulations, and generally accepted accounting principles.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Provides assistance and support to the Accounting Manager and Corporate Controller.

Serve as Lead on special projects and assignments.

Provides assistance and guidance staff accountants.

Evaluates alternative accounting treatments and determines necessary journal entries to record or correct transactions.

Learns, understands, and interprets DataPoints reporting findings to Regional Controller and Facility Administrator.

Review work of Staff Accountants.

Work in coordination with the Accounting Manager to ensure the security, integrity and confidentiality of financial transactions.

Provides assistance and support to Regional Controller and facility staff.

Analyze and balance all assigned accounts monthly. Including performing other tasks necessary for the timely reconciliation and balancing of assigned accounts.

Prepare and record accounting journal entries.

Assist with the preparation of tax return(s), as assigned.

Conduct fixed asset management.

Prepare monthly financial statements and perform financial analysis/review.

Distribute financial information in a timely manner.

Assist with the coordination of annual audits, including preparing audit schedules of assigned accounts and consolidated schedules.

Maintain permanent accounting records.

Other special projects and duties, as assigned.

Requirements:
Bachelors degree in Accounting or related field required, MBA preferred

Minimum of four (4) years related experience in accounting role; healthcare background preferred.

CPA, CMA, MBA preferred.

Knowledge of GAAP accounting.

Proficiency in account reconciliation and balancing required.

Experience with accounting software; Great Plains preferred.

Must possess excellent mathematical skills including budget/variance reporting and statistical analysis.

Effective verbal and written English communication skills.

Demonstrated advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook, Internet and Intranet navigation.

Highest level of professionalism with the ability to maintain confidentiality.

Ability to communicate at all levels of organization and work well within a team environment in support of company objectives.

Customer service oriented with the ability to work well under pressure.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy, excellent organizational skills with ability to prioritize, coordinate and simultaneously maintain multiple projects with high level of quality and productivity.

Strong analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to solve complex accounting issues.

Ability to work with minimal supervision, take initiative and make independent decisions.

Ability to deal with new tasks without the benefit of written procedures.

Approachable, flexible and adaptable to change.
