Ambrell is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our Finance team in Rochester, NY. The Staff Accountant will support US and European finance including all facets of accounting. Reporting to the VP of Finance the Staff Accountant ensures the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, consolidating, and entering transactions.

Serve as the point person for all accounts payable processing

Serve as the point person for payroll processing and reconciliation of benefit invoices

Secondary person for all accounts receivable processing

Process companywide expense reports

Complete month end close process thru financial statement preparation for Ambrell Holdings LLC which includes financial data from global operations which may include consolidation and reconciliation of financial data from Ambrell European subsidiaries and global distributors.

Help maintain general ledger by transferring subsidiary accounts; preparing a trial balance; reconciling entries.

Help prepare and record asset, liability, revenue, and expenses entries by compiling and analyzing account information.

Help maintain and balance subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, reconciling transactions; resolving discrepancies.

Help summarize financial status by collecting information; preparing balance sheet, profit and loss, and other statements.

Support financialreporting as needed

Monthly corporate credit card reconciliation

Monthly forecast updates

Fixed asset tracking

Report on foreign exchange effects on the financials

Assist in physical inventories

Prepare for and support annual external audit

SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES (alternate, backup and support):


Perform the duties of other accounting staff and the VP of Finance on an as-needed basis.

Accounts receivable

Assist the CFO and the VP of Finance in annual budgeting process

Assist with analysis of gross margins, fixed and variable costs, orders, revenue, backlog and other operational metrics

Support the cash management process

Assist with financial and accounting processes and duties for Ambrell European subsidiaries



Financial systems and data management as a system "super-user" of Syspro and MS Dynamics

Participate in Lean6-Sigma programs, teams and events upon request

Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.

Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.

Other office duties as assigned


* BS Degree or AS Degree with 5+ years' experience
* 3+ years of experience in an Accounting role
* General corporate accounting
* Familiarity with GAAP and SFAS

* Excellent MS office skills including expert level MS excel
* Previous accounting software experience (familiarity with Syspro a plus)
* Ability to complete tasks on deadline while maintaining accuracy
* Support internal and external customers with any accounting inquiries
* Available to work additional hours during peak times (i.e. month end/year-end).
