JOB DESCRIPTION

Position Expectations

Senior Analyst System

Position Summary

The Senior System Analyst conducts analyses to identify potential improvement in operations processes and policies to address issues such as on-time performance, operations efficiencies, impacts of internal/external policy and procedure options, while considering JetBlue s Customer Service requirements and the economic performance.

Essential Responsibilities

*

Create, manage, and distribute system scorecards that track system performance (e.g., on time arrivals, average turn times, BOR vouchers, delay code reconciliation, etc.)
*

Utilize statistical/mathematical modeling to quantitatively evaluate the impact of various policy and procedure options/changes
*

Conduct analyses and provide recommendations to enhance system performance for various functional groups
*

Create and submit reports required by the Department of Transportation (DOT), Port Authority, and Foreign Government
*

Identify, recommend solutions, and closely work with IT on report automation opportunities
*

Prepare and provide necessary information for weekly operations reports to Senior Management Team
*

Conduct necessary tests and identify solutions to ensure data integrity on various corporate databases
*

Develop working prototypes to streamline operations process
*

Identify markets with chronic operations performance issues and recommend solutions to the root causes
*

Other duties as assigned

Minimum Experience and Qualifications

*

Bachelor s Degree in Statistics, Operations Research, Computer Science, Mathematics, or Quantitative Analysis
*

Three (3) years data analysis or Operations Research experience in aviation industry
*

Proficient with Microsoft Office suite, SQL language, and data structure knowledge
*

Strong quantitative and analytical skills
*

Excellent verbal and written communication skills
*

Must be a self-starter who is eager to participate and contribute to JetBlue teams

*

Legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located
*

Pass a ten (10) year background check and pre-employment drug test

Preferred Experience and Qualifications

*

Post-graduate degree in Computer Science, Statistics, or Quantitative Analysis
*

Proficiency in SAS and advanced level of SQL as well as statistical analysis
*

Experience in Airline Industry

Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short-notice

Well groomed and able to maintain a professional appearance

When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft
