General Overview
Reporting to the Corporate Manager, Strategic Operations Management, the Senior Analyst will work within a small team supporting large system-wide projects. The Senior Analyst provides key analysis for numerous Patient Affordability initiatives that encompass both reducing the rate of expense growth and supporting change management within the Partner system. The goal of the initiatives is to identify opportunities for managing costs from a variety of perspectives including our clinical and operational structure, utilization and external economic factors.
The Strategic Operations Management Department also supports multiple projects and committees of physician and administrative leaders, charged with identifying cost and efficiency opportunities across Partners. In addition, this department supports other Finance projects such as unit cost analysis, benchmark reporting and TSI/EPSI cost refinements.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Senior Analyst will interact with Partners management both at the entity and corporate levels. S/he will support the work of the executive sponsors and leaders of the Patient Affordability initiatives, including the System CFO and CEOs and COOs of several Partners entities, and will:
Conduct analysis on Partners cost structure and drivers to support the Patient Affordability initiatives.
Produce executive-level presentations of analytical results based on findings for senior management.
Create opportunity analysis by analyzing and interpreting both internal and external data sources, including operational, financial and benchmarking data.
Conduct and manage the research, documentation, and analysis of internal and external best practices.
Provide support and coordination for approved projects, assisting in formulating business plans when appropriate.
Develop strong, positive relationships with functional leaders at the hospitals and other customers. Leverage these colleagues expertise and experiences to identify best practices.
Bachelor degree required. MBA or MPH preferred.
A minimum of 4 years of progressive related experience required. Preferably in a healthcare related field.
Superior analytical and problem solving skills. Ease with manipulating and interpreting data from multiple services.
Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
Ability to lead projects with strong project management skills.
Comfort in interacting with senior level leadership.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively, both independently and within a team.
Strong leadership and organizational abilities.
Requires some local travel between multiple entities within the Partners system.
Technical Skills:
Advances working knowledge of Microsoft products is required (Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Word).
SQL knowledge a plus.
Use of Tableau a plus.
Familiarity with healthcare databases, such as TSI/EPSi and ACTION OI a plus.
Ability to work within a complex, multi-site environment.
Attention to detail.
