Job Description
Job Summary and Mission Starbucks is seeking a Senior Application Developer in Oracle/ERP space to play a key role in designing, extending and supporting applications with a primary focus in PTP and OTM areas. This job contributes to Starbucks success by applying knowledge of business/functional requirements and systems technology to effectively develop solutions and support applications. The key activities for this role involve identification of gaps, designing, and deploying enhanced process and technology solutions supporting the operational requirements and/or strategic initiatives. The key activities also include developing the technical specifications, configuration of applications, developing extensions and integrations. The role also needs to coordinate with various other business, functional and IT groups. Summary of Key Responsibilities Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
Assists in systems planning, scheduling and implementation. Collaborates with project team to keep project on schedule.
Translates business/functional requirements into technology solutions. Clearly defines and communicates targeted technical solution via technical design specifications
Leads iterative solution design and prototyping efforts
Performs application configuration in support of solution delivery initiatives
Creates system and end-user documentation to support new system implementation, enhancement deployment, and incident management efforts. Also conduct knowledge transfer to team members as required
Leverages subject matter expertise in analyzing and troubleshooting complex system/user issues to drive resolution and determine root cause
Coordinates issue resolution efforts across peer support groups, technical support teams, and vendors as required
Effectively coordinates and communicates issues resolution
Correlates related production issues and assesses trends to identify broader improvement opportunities
Extends technology support internationally to support global business operations
May lead project teams or direct the activities of a given project phase
Supports the development of less-experienced analysts through coaching and mentoring
Supports team building and internal process improvement efforts
Relates system solutions to broader organization strategies and objectives
Summary of Experience
Oracle Applications implementation experience - 3 years
Solution design, testing, and implementation experience - 5 years
Production support, system maintenance, upgrades, and enhancement delivery experience - 5 years
IT Project experience as project resource or lead - 2 years
Procurement, Transportation Management and/or Payables application - 3 years
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of system development methodologies with experience throughout the full project lifecycle
Ability to identify/define technology solutions delivering required business capabilities
Ability to design and deploy highly reliable and scalable global technology solutions
Ability to develop clear, thorough functional design specifications that drive effective solution development
Knowledge of effective testing practices and methodologies
Ability to work independently with limited general supervision
Experience prioritizing competing demands, scoping large efforts and negotiating timelines
Strong oral and written communication skills enabling the persuasive presentation of proposed solutions and the delivery of effective end-user training
Ability to collaborate and drive consensus across a diverse group customers with conflicting priorities
Ability to coach and mentor other less experienced team members
Ability to facilitate and perform cross-training and information sharing
Proactively builds and maintains strong relationships with customers and cross-functional teams
A minimum of five years of experience developing solutions for Oracles e-business suite
Strong working knowledge of SQL, PL/SQL and Host Scripts
Experience with Oracles development tools including forms, reports, workflow builder, Business Events, Web ADI, OAF (JDeveloper) and BI Publisher. Programming experience in Java is a plus.
Strong functional and technical knowledge in at least one of these e-business suite applications (Transportation Management, Procurement, Payables, Order Management and Shipping Execution)
Ability to engage Oracle Support to resolve application issues
Good analytical, problem solving skills, ability to translate the functional requirements into technical specifications with emphasis on global solution and documenting root cause analysis
