Job Description

Position Summary

We are currently seeking a BEA Weblogic Portal Developer for our San Ramon location. This is a developer position for Portal and Presentation Center of Excellence group in ISTS. The group develops and maintains internet applications such as Customer Service Online (CSOL), Electronic Billing Payment and Presentment (EBPP), PGEConnect, eRebates, Demand Response and few others.
Responsibilities
Application Development: Perform application analysis, design, development, unit testing, testing support, deployment support and maintenance for the Internet and our BEA Weblogic Portal applications. Accurately estimate effort for requested
Enhance and Maintenance to Portal Applications: Perform analysis and code fixes to the Java applications for our BEA Weblogic Portal. Monitor system health on daily basis including but not limited to checking the system logs, checking batch runs and producing needed daily reports. Participate in recurring operations meetings Respond to customer issues/problems forwarded by the call center. Manage problem determination, escalation and coordination within the team/other groups to resolve production failures in a timely manner.
Respond to Alert messages coming from the BMC Patrol, call center, client, test team and other sources Install and test patches from Vendors as required. Configure applications to work with
patches/upgrades in Weblogic and databases. Provide client support and consultation.
Provide support for feasibility analysis and estimation. Provide ad-hoc data requests and research questions.
Assist in the definition, development, and documentation of system's business requirements, objectives, deliverables, and specifications on a project-by-project basis in collaboration with internal users and departments.
Consult with clients to identify, understand, anticipate, and meet current and future business needs.
Anticipate client concerns and questions and provide timely, professional, straight forward (non-technical) communications
Provide on call support for production systems and provide timely solutions. Day-to-day tasks to insure systems are up and running. Respond to ad-hoc questions and intra-departmental communications. Bug fixes, patches, etc.
Create and update Technical Design and Architecture documents, Deployment Guide, Operations Guide, etc.
May attend client meetings as team or manager representative
Oversee, mentor, and provide guidance to less experienced programmer-analysts
Leads complex system modifications
Understands business requirements and applies them to complex programming and analysis
Solid understanding of PDM and compliance processes and impact to client projects
Collaborates with Project Manager on complex project timelines, identifying critical path, resource assignments, risks, and dependencies.


Minimum Qualifications
BA/BS in Computer Science, Business, or equivalent experience.
Sun Java or Oracle WebLogic certifications are a plus.
Minimum 6 years experience working on web and JAVA applications. Experience working as member of team developing and supporting web applications. Excellent Written and verbal communications skills
BEA Weblogic Portal 10.3, 9.x
BEA Weblogic Portal Object-Oriented design skills: Java, J2EE (JSP's, Servlet's, Tag Libraries, JSTL, NetUI tags), XML, XML Schema, DTD JDBC, SQL, HTML/JavaScript/CSS Struts 1.1, 2 including modules, tiles & validation framework, ANT, Source Control (ClearCase, PVCS or similar tools), Web Services (JAX-WS, JAX-RPC)
Desired Qualifications

Castor or XMLBeans (or other JAXB - Java/XML binding framework), iBATIS or Hibernate, JavaMail API, UML, JMS, Junit, LDAP through JNDI, UC4, Unix (Linux, AIX or Solaris), Unix Shell Scripting
