SUMMARY: This position is responsible for investigating products, procedures or processes that will improve operational and clinical efficiency, increase the quality of patient care and reduce supply expenditures. Serves as a Supply Chain expert and mentors others in the Value Analysis process of achieving optimal cost, quality and outcomes in relation to medical products or services.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Role models the development of professional rapport with administrative, clinical leaders, suppliers and other team members.
2. Leads a Value Analysis team using strong project management and meeting management skills.
3. Responds in a timely manner and prioritizes work to meet the needs of the customer.
4. Mentors others in the skills of public speaking and presentation.
5. Serves as a mentor and resource to other Clinical Value Analysis specialists, assisting with training and development.
1. Responds to internal and external customers in a professional and timely manner.
2. Listens to understand and role models effective conflict negotiation skills.
3. Seeks input from customers about the quality of services provided by Supply Chain and specifically Value Analysis.
4. Priotizes the needs of patients and visitors at all times and role models the behavior to others.
1. Leads a team in the Value Analysis process to achieve optimal patient outcomes and financial stewardship in the evaluation and implementation of medical supplies and services.
2. Encourages standardization of products, processes, policies and protocols as supported by clinical evidence and data.
3. Uses internal quality data to guide decisions.
4. Seeks external benchmarking data and and clinical experts to support product evaluation decisions.
5. Coordinates a transparent and structured data collection process for formal evaluations.
6. Reports the results of a trial in a clear and unbiased manner to the value analysis committee and key stakeholders.
7. Monitors compliance of implemented projects.
8. Independent ability to analyze a situation and develop a reasonable action plan using strong critical thinking and problem solving skills.
1. Collaborates with the clinical and administrative leadership across the Houston Methodist System to drive accountability for quality goods and services that are standardized and cost effective.
2. Uses resources to evaluate spend and savings opportunities for specific products and services.
3. Conducts financial modeling. Considers: labor and nonlabor costs, reimbursement, incentives and share back opportunities, capital, cost avoidance and quality outcomes.
4. Evaluates the total cost of changing products, technologies, or processes, especially as it relates to changes in reimbursement, clinical pathways and cost avoidance.
5. Manages annual savings targets for assigned service.
6. Facilitates compliance with Group Purchasing Organization and local contracts.
7. Collaborates with GPO leaders to identify and implement savings and standardization initiatives.
1. Leads a system savings initiative.
2. Maintains knowledge of the internal and external drivers for change in his or her specialty.
3. Seeks opportunities for personal growth and development.

Bachelor s Degree required. Master s preparation or clinical experience preferred.
5 years of professional experience in supply chain, a clinical role or project management.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED
Certification in value analysis, supply chain or a clinical specialty preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
Sufficient proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing the English language necessary to perform the essential functions of this job, especially with regard to activities impacting patient or employee safety or security.
Ability to effectively communicate with patients, physicians, family members and co-workers in a manner consistent with a customer service focus and application of positive language principles.
