The Senior Database Administrator is responsible for RMDBS systems, as a member of the Application and Database Operations team, in Enterprise Technologies.

WHAT YOU\'LL BE DOING:
- Resolve escalated, incident tickets in support of database systems
- Participate in major incident recovery, solution work arounds and restore service
- Escalate unresolved issues to development teams, infrastructure engineers and third party vendors
- Drive the RCA and problem management activities for application outages / degraded service
- Review service trends, identify themes, communicate risk and propose technical solutions
- Monitor performance trends, system stability and trigger preventive actions
- Maintain advanced knowledge of Database solutions, including best practices for their administration and security
- Develop standard operating procedures, train users and promote knowledge sharing with teams
- Setup, configure and maintain server RDBMS systems and deploy releases
- Manage databases, through the landscape of environments, for applications with data warehouse and OLTP components
- Recommend technical solutions that ensures the support effort meets integration and performance expectations; Assist developers with complex query tuning, schema r refinement and index management
- Perform backups / restores, tune performance and enable failover clustering for quality service
- Participate and drive cross-functional support efforts for technology refresh projects and patching
- Automate repetitive administration tasks and handover runbooks to the NOC
- Track operational metrics
- Provide on call support

MUST HAVES:
- Bachelor s Degree in Computer Science, or a related technical field
- 5+ years of experience with Oracle and ASM
- Understanding and hands-on experience with Oracle 12c/11g, ASM and performance tuning
- Experience coding in PL/SQL and knowledge of Partitioning
- Experience with installation, patching, and upgrades of databases
- Understanding of Linux platform and Virtual environment
- Experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM), setting up of monitors and alerts
- Ability to organize and plan work activities for a dynamic, fast-paced environment (Agile)
- Database operations support experience with a strong desire to solve problems
- Scripting / automation mind set with exposure to monitoring, performance tools and log review
- Knowledge of high availability, disaster recovery and backup / restore solutions and best practices
- PL/SQL development experience to troubleshoot code (stored procedures, functions, tables, indexes, constraints) plus a background with logical / physical data modeling

EVEN BETTER:
- Technical certifications are a plus (Oracle 12c or 11g)
