Summary of Job Duties
(Note: This summary will be used for keyword search) Under direction from Data Warehouse manager, the Senior Database Developer designs and codes the scripts to extract, transform, and load (ETL) data and metadata into the data warehouse. Works with business customers to identify and understand source data systems. Adapts ETL processes to accommodate changes in source systems and new user requirements. Tests, monitors, manages and validates data warehouse activity, including ETL, cleansing and updating processes. Manages requests for changes and prioritizes work based on business needs and available resources. Evaluates, installs, tests, develops, configures and implements business intelligence (BI) tools or applications for accessing and analyzing data, customizing tools and reports for use by different types of data consumers. Develops semantic layer or BI objects for end users. Troubleshoots BI tool problems and tunes for performance. Creates reports and report templates. Participates in training and team meetings.

Minimum Requirements
Experience configuring, developing and deploying ETL projects in SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).

Conceptual and analytic skills to understand complex source and target data for ETL mapping.

3+ years experience with SQL programming/database development (MS SQL Server 2008/2012/2014 or equivalent DBMS).

Ability to communicate with business customers, understand business concepts and issues, and translate functional requirements into data warehouse solutions.

Excellent communication, analytical, problem solving and organizational skills.

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience in programming and business analysis.

Self-motivated with ability to multi-task with good time management skills and attention to quality and detail.

Desirable Requirements
Prior experience building and maintaining data warehouses.

Expert level ETL development with SSIS.

Expert level SQL coding/querying in MS SQL Server.
Strong understanding of data warehouse, business intelligence and dimensional modeling concepts.

Experience with relational database design/modeling using tools such as ERwin.

Experience using, deploying, supporting, configuring and maintaining Business Intelligence (BI) tools such as Hyperion, OBIEE or Cognos.

Understanding of software, web, data and application security issues and risks.

Familiar with PeopleSoft HCM and PeopleSoft Financials data sources.
