TITLE: SENIOR DATABASE PROGRAMMER ANALYST

Location: Hoboken, NJ

Duration: Full-Time

INTERVIEW MODE: 1-2 PHONE, 1 ONSITE/F2F

REQUIREMENTS

Understands data on a larger scale; not just a DBA but who can design, develop and troubleshoot databases

4-6years programming experience in an SQL environment as well as bash and Shell Scripting in a Linux environment

Expertise in MySQL (5-8years' experience)

MUST have NOSQL and Cloud Computing with an emphasis on AWS and VMWare (2-3years' experience)

Oracle is a plus

The ability to take a leadership role in database administration, architecture and application development as it applies to the building/maintenance of systems

In-depth knowledge of data structures, what happens to data and business issues related to data

Experience in full project life-cycle management including plans involving detailed tasks, due date and resource assignments according to a Project Framework

Excellent oral and written communication skills

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

Self-direction (who can take charge and manage)

Team of 9 with 7 DBA's (high energy, flexible, no-nonsense, straight-shooters, and willing to learn new things)

24x7 Production Environment (every 6 weeks they do a rotation on who will be on call, there is some flexibility on working from home, maybe one day a week)

Excellent communication skills (also speak with CTO and product owners and build consensus)

Good with documentation

Ideally, someone coming from a smaller company wearing many hats and did everything including network administration

Client Data Management Technology team provides a collaborative service to developers as well as third-party software providers to design and model new data solutions, implement and maintain strategic and tactical CMS system sent and build, implement, and maintain applications that deliver new value and enable content reuse across platforms and formats.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Design, develop, and implement

High availability database solutions using tools such as Application Clustering to ensure and promote system uptime and ultimately result in little to no downtime for Client's customer base - both internal and external

Database back-up and recovery solutions using tools such as real time replication, site mirroring, and solid backup/recovery architecture that in the event of a system disaster will offer quick recovery and limited loss of data

Utilize a Project Methodology Framework to manage pertinent aspects of one or more projects

Document procedures and processes as well as lead discussions on pertinent topics

Advanced databasearchitecture whether it be SQL (e.g., Oracle, MySQL, SQL Server) or NoSQL (e.g., Couchbase, MongoDB) to take advantage of high performance solutions (e.g., greater input/output performance)

Resolve complex issues by knowing where within an organization to turn to for guidance - from both a business and technical perspective

Maintain and develop a long running knowledge of the way an application works, its business requirements, and overall company direction for the application

Manage selected database inventories including adherence to licensing requirements, upgrade coordination to supportable releases, and decommissioning of environments as needed
