The Carlisle Group is pleased to partner exclusively with a leading grocery company in the Minneapolis, MN area. Our client serves customers through more than 3,4 owned, licensed, franchised and independently owned stores across the country. The company has strong roots in supply chain and wholesale distribution.

We are seeking a Senior Director of Distribution for a highly automated 1.8 million square foot distribution center. Reporting to the General Manager, this position directs and controls the daily activities of the warehouse, transportation, and facility maintenance managers. It will review work schedules, projects, and various department initiatives affecting the operational performance of the Distribution Center.

Additional responsibilities makes changes and adjustments as necessary in order to achieve budget commitments and facility goals.

Interfaces with home office and centralized functional areas such as finance and procurement as directed; develop strategy, plan business initiatives or provide operational analysis as needed.

Responds to associate questions, requests, grievances and other labor relations matters as directed by the general manager.

Regularly collaborates with department managers and human resources to identify the development needs of associates; participates in the creation of plans for individual advancement.

Provides general manager operational updates and suggests ideas promoting continuous improvement in productivity, efficiency and operational effectiveness.

Consistently monitors areas of responsibility to ensure compliance with company policies and programs as well as various regulatory requirements of local, state and federal agencies.

Works on special projects, initiatives and temporary assignments as directed by the general manager.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor's degree in business or related field and/or equivalent work experience in wholesale procedures.

Possess a good working knowledge of retail food store operations.

Possess good leadership skills and the ability to supervise the work of others. Must be able to motivate and work with and through others to achieve desired results.

Must have the ability to represent the Company's interests in negotiations with outside professionals and consultants.

Possess good communication skills, both verbal and written, and deal effectively with a wide variety of people in person, over the telephone or through electronic communication.

Possess intermediate to advanced computer skills using Microsoft Office applications such as Work, Excel, Access and PowerPoint.

Requires the analytical ability to handle administrative duties and mental alertness to ensure accurate, safe and thorough completion of work activities. Possess ability to concentrate and deal with frequent interruptions and effectively manage competing priorities.
