Job Description

In this role, you will be directing activities of electrical CAD and Designer support staff. Lead Electrical EngineerPosition Summary:Career Transitions is recruiting an energetic, self-motivated and innovative Electrical Engineer for a senior-level position. In addition to the basic qualifications listed above, the successful candidate shall possess the skills required to successfully develop and execute project tasks and deliverables, be a collaborative team player and have a strong drive to deliver quality project designs to customers. This person will develop and implement the electrical and special systems concepts and design coordinating with internal architects and engineers in multiple disciplines, including process, mechanical and I&C, and client personnel. Experience in AutoCAD and Revit is necessary for developing drawing deliverables. Experience with Microsoft Office is also required. Project sizes will vary and will consist primarily of pharmaceutical, biotech or other advanced-technology projects, including existing building renovations/retrofits and new construction.Qualifications:Degree in ElectricalEngineering or equivalent10 plus years of experiencerequired, much of this preferably in a design firm settingProfessional Engineer certificate required (PE)Experience using design software, AutoCAD and Revit (preferred)Experience with Microsoft Office requiredExperience with developing and implementing electrical and special systems design strategies/philosophies for high technology facilities requiredAbility to lead a project from an electrical design perspective and to direct the electrical design effort requiredWorking knowledge experience with National Electric Code (NEC), NFPA and other industry standards requiredDesign experience in electrically hazardous classified spacesResponsibilities may include but are not limited to:Developing electrical power concepts for new or renovated high tech and API processing/manufacturing facilitiesWriting narratives that describe the electrical and special systems that may include user requirements specifications and sequences of operationDeveloping single line diagrams to depict the electrical power system at a high levelPerforming electrical calculations for power and lighting systemsSpecifying electrical devices and equipment for power, lighting, and special systemsWorking with other disciplines to ensure electrical and special systems designs are fully coordinatedProviding input into the electrical requirements of complex process and mechanical equipmentCreating electrical and special systems design drawings from concept through detailed designDeveloping electricalconstruction specificationsFollowing projects after construction documents are issued and reviewing submittals, providing electrical design support, and making field visits to verify construction of electrical scope is proceeding per the intent of the designDirecting activities of electrical CAD and Designer support staff
