SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide engineering support for implementation of Operations Procedures and Compliance processes including development of procedures, completion of analytical studies, assessment and audit support. Develop programs, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with electric industry reliability requirements and SSAE16 requirements.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
* Develop and implement processes and procedures to enable continuous auditable compliance with NERC and NAESB standards.
* Provide analytical support to track any non-compliance, and develop action and mitigation plans to correct gaps.
* Evaluate operating events, disturbances, and balancing authority performance.
* Prepare reports to meet company and regulatory reporting requirements.
* Coordinate process, procedure, and technology enhancements and operator training needed to meet electric industry reliability requirements and SSAE16 requirements.
* Provide engineering support in response to customer inquiries, compliance and readiness audits.
* Support and serve on internal and external committees, task forces, and working groups.
* Make decisions affecting the design, scheduling, and completion of projects that may affect multiple departments or the division
* Examine highly complex data from multiple sources crossing departmental boundaries in which results are not predictable.
* Evaluate moderate risk problems and identify solutions or alternatives considering multiple perspectives and views.
* Utilize advanced power engineering techniques to create options, visualize possibilities and formulate new approaches.
* Integrate complex data from multiple sources across the department.
* Apply analysis of issues to make recommendations and implement courses of action
* Compliance with all processes, procedures, and standards applicable to the position including (but not limited to): SSAE16 (Statement on Standards for Attestation Engagements No. 16), CIP (Critical Infrastructure Protection), Change Management, Tariff (Open Access Transmission, Energy and Operating Reserve Markets Tariff), FERC (Federal Energy Regulatory Commission), NERC (North American Electric Reliability Corporation), U.S. Department of Homeland Security, and NAESB (North American Energy Standards Board).
QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
* Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology required
* Curriculum emphasis in power preferred
* Advanced training certification or degree preferred
Experience:
* Four years market operations, reliability coordination, generation dispatch, balancing authority operations, or transmission operations required
* Prior NERC and Regional reliability standards experience preferred
Knowledge:
* Principles, practices, and administration of technical issues
* Microsoft Office Suite
* Project management and administration of programs
* NERC, FERC, and Regional requirements, policies and procedures
* CPS and DCS reliability standards and requirements
* Power system operation and planning
