JOB DESCRIPTIONAPPLY VHB's growing Watertown, MA team is looking for a Senior Environmental Scientist to join our Environmental Resources group. Responsibilities: Performing natural resource surveys including, but not limited to, wetland delineations and functional assessments, wildlife habitat evaluations and rare species surveys Preparing studies and technical reports Preparing federal, state and local wetland permit applications Managing and participating in the preparation of environmental impact statements and assessments Conducting environmental planning analyses and assessments Designing studies of key ecological ssues to support public and private sector clients in making informed sound environmental decisions Managing projects and staff Establishing and tracking project milestones and business goals Maintaining ongoing dialog with clients to keep them apprised of project status, changes in conditions or other key points of information Skills and Abilities: Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills Team oriented with strong capability to motivate others Must be a highly motivated self-starter Must demonstrate superior ability in collaborative problem solving with stakeholders, clients, and teammates Qualifications: B.S. in Biology, Ecology, Natural Resources, Environmental Science or a related field; Master's degree preferred Minimum 10-15 years of environmental consulting experience The individual should be comfortable working in physically challenging outdoor situations in all types of weather and traveling on a regular basis to project sites located in New England and the surrounding Northeastern U.S. region Experience in identifying northeast plant species and soils is required; ability to identify wildlife, habitats, and ecological communities is required Knowledge of the state and federal wetland regulations, endangered species environmental regulations and environmental permitting is required Please submit applications online.
