Department: Budget & Financial Planning


The Senior Financial analyst will report to the Budget Manager and is responsible for carrying out financial analyses and modeling related to the monthly and annual budget process. The Senior Financial Analyst will also perform financial analyses for new business initiatives and capital expenditures. This position works closely with Senior Management and department managers. Strong quantitative and interpersonal skills are essential.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prepares budget reports for use in monthly financial statements and reports to Senior Management and Board Members.
Collaborates with clinical and administrative department managers to review utilization and expenditure patters in support of the annual budget process.
Performs monthly variance analyses to support budget objectives. Monitors ongoing department expenditure patterns and identifies areas for improved performance.
Provides financial and market analyses to assist in financial planning and business development projects. Prepares return on investment analyses for capital requests and allocations. Makes recommendations on viability of new initiatives and capital expenditures.
Works closely with Accounting and Decision Support areas to generate statistical and financial analyses.
Functions as team leader in assisting Budget Manager in providing oversight and support to financial analyst.
REQUIREMENTS:
Knowledge of hospital financial analysis and decision support systems as well as statistical and analytic software models(TSI, Access, Excel, etc.)
Excellent oral, written and presentation skills.
A bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting or related field
Five to seven years of progressive work experience in health care financial department setting.
TN Full-Time Regular Day shift Bachelors degree is required 5+ years of experience is required
