Position Summary
This position is responsible for supporting the New York local-office financial operations including client services and support, management reporting, analysis and decision support, the NY client contracting process, and other ad hoc reporting. This position is an integral member of the finance team and will lend support to the NY Finance Manager to provide reporting and analysis to meet the needs of ongoing business. Under the guidance of the NY Finance Manager, this person will prepare reports and analysis to support the management team.

Job Responsibilities
Management reporting, analysis and decision:

* Provide support for the budget estimate and strategic planning process for the New York office

* Drive revenue forecasting and various "state of the business" reporting for leadership (OA and Practice Area Committees); adapt and create new slides and analysis as the business evolves

* Coordinate complex business drivers such as capacity and costs to support business decisions and proactively highlight issues and opportunities for improvements

* Coordinate and assist multiple pieces of the NYC budgeting process (revenue, cost, and capacity)

* Provide project management, reporting to a subset of partners/cases

* Develop, update, and distribute weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports to NYC functional managers; share trends

* Team with other finance and regional function leaders to develop enhanced estimate tools, reports and analysis

* Develop metrics to better understand client pricing

* Respond to ad hoc requests, providing additional insight and analysis as needed

* Collaborate with a wide variety of internal customers and business partners, including local offices, functions, practice areas, global finance, and others

* Pricing analysis, supporting pricing tools and costing templates/rate cards

* Perform other duties as needed with minimal oversight in a timely manner

* Ad hoc reporting as needed

* Technical aptitude essential in this role:

* Advanced skills in Microsoft Office suite, both in practice and training

* Intermediate to advanced skill level in data/business intelligence suite desired, with long term 'super user' intent

Supporting client contracting:

* Own the Client Contract Management (CCM) process, including review of all NY client contracts and identifying terms, risks and categorization within BCG contracting definitions; upload materials into Client Contract Database

* Work with case teams and Partners to ensure they follow proper contracting procedures when working with a client proposal

* Highlight non standard terms and work with Finance and BCG's Pricing teams to ensure proper alternative fee accounting and correct approval processes

* Improve overall compliance and contract management with the Partnership and BCG's Legal and Risk teams

* Create monthly Partner Contract Status reports and highlight to Finance Manager and OA

* Leverage contracting to support Partners with case specific project management

Basic Job Requirements

* Bachelors degree required; major in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business or Math preferred

* 3-5 years of Finance and/or Accounting experience in a professional services firm strongly preferred

Key Competencies

* Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint and experience with Business Objects or equivalent

* Strong problem solving, analytical skills and judgment

* Collaborative team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills and proven ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization

* Comfort with ambiguity and ability to effectively multi-task, make tradeoffs, take initiative, meet deadlines and prioritize in a dynamic, fast-paced environment

* Meticulous attention to detail

* High degree of integrity, a positive attitude, and an ability to maintain absolute confidentiality

* Ability to work independently to create slides based on interpretive metrics/ analysis

* Prior exposure to a professional services environment or the consulting industry a plus
