JOB DESCRIPTIONAPPLY JOB DESCRIPTION:
This position is responsible for preparing proposals for various grants. This position will conduct a full range of activities required to prepare, submit, and manage grant proposals. The position will ensure timely submission of proposals that follow the requirements of the sponsor and program announcement. The position exemplifies the Rush mission, vision and values and acts in accordance with Rush policies and procedures and federal rules and regulations.
Review and coordinate complex proposals and budgets
Advise and assist faculty and staff to ensure compliance with institutional, sponsor and federal regulations for contractual and financial matters
Responsible for the final review and submission of all pre-award grant proposals
Prepare and deliver effective training sessions
Assist the Director with contact between investigators and external funding agencies
Update and revise the grants proposal and management module of the Rush Research Portal as necessary
Monitor the workload of the Grant Specialists Team
Provide meaningful metrics on grant proposals and awards
Assist the Director with keeping Policy and Procedures up-to-date to ensure compliance with federal, state, agency and institutional regulations as they relate to sponsored research
Monitor research-related business problems in conjunction with the Directors of ORA, the Research Compliance Division, Human Subjects Protection Division, and Fund Accounting
Publish monthly and annual reports regarding research award activity
Work closely with Fund Accounting and the Dean s Office on grant related issues
Serve on various advisory and planning committees
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE:
BA or BS degree required.
5 years of pre and/or post-award experience in the preparation, processing, and negotiation of grant and contract proposals and awards.
Certified Research Administrator certification or comparable certification preferred or willingness to complete within 2 years.
Experience reading and interpreting funding opportunity announcements and demonstrated knowledge of pre-award grant submission process is highly preferred.
Knowledge of NIH application requirements and policy regulations and a familiarity with web based submission software.
Strong communication, organizational, financial and interpersonal skills are essential as are analytical ability, problem solving skills and ability to attend to detail.
Computer experience with Excel, Word and Access are required.
Must be an energetic individual ready to deliver the highest level of customer service.
Demonstrated ability to work in a \\"high volume\\" office in which there are multiple deadlines.
Be willing to work as part of a group of professionals dedicated to collaborative approaches and positive outcomes.
Demonstrated ability to lead and influence people.
