Our HR function is changing to ensure that the customer is at the heart of everything we do. As part of the new structure, we have created HR Service Operations which delivers site specific HR support within key geographical locations across the globe. The Service Operations team will consist of site/area HR teams in addition to regional shared service support within our key geographical regions. By aligning regionally, this team will allow for our customers to have a better line of sight to their HR support in addition to providing a more positive overall experience. It will be imperative for the Service Operations team to liaise with all areas of the new HR model in order to operationalize and deliver HR services.
Reporting into the HR Director for North America, we're looking for an Area HR Manager to support the East & South Coast population (approximately 900 currently) and HR Policy. This is a key management role in the new structure where you will be accountable for all HR operations within the area, allocating the right resource to ensure that the business priorities and HR strategy are effectively delivered locally. This role also has line management responsibility of a team of 5-6 HR professionals locally. This role is located in Reston, VA.
This individual will be responsible for leading a team to provide HR support to local business managers across multiple sites with particular emphasis on delivery of activity where face-to-face support or local business context is required.
Additionally, this role will have accountability for the local deployment of Company HR processes, projects, and identified change programs. The scope of the role also includes monitoring of policy and procedural compliance across the business area and responsibility for Diversity & Inclusion (affirmative action) deployment, monitoring, and compliance.
Working with Union representatives, line management, and the Regional ER team, this role will be focused on developing good employee relations across the assigned population.
At a local level, this role will ensure that the HR delivery model is effective and that HR processes are consistently delivered.
* BA/BS/BBA Degree in Human Resources, Business, Psychology, other behavioral sciences, or related degreerequired. Master's Degree in Human Resources, Business, Psychology, other behavioral sciences, or related field preferred.
* Minimum 10y ears human resources experience supporting corporate Human Resource function.
The ideal candidate will possess experience in HR that is both broad and deep, as well as in-depth knowledge of the HR function and its capability to support business objectives. Knowledge of country employment/labor laws, regulations, procedures, and HR issues is also preferred.
As this is a customer facing role, preferred candidates will possess well-developed customer and relationship management skills, including credibility and influencing skills, particularly able to coach leaders and their teams to drive performance and capability improvement. Individuals should also demonstrate that they've managed and developed HR generalist teams successfully, planning HR activities and resources whilst balancing conflicting priorities and ambiguous situations.
