EAST BAY location close to 680. Some travel to other sites in San Francisco Bay area required.

Reporting to the Director of Human Resources (a wonderful experienced mentor & HR professional), the HR generalist will take the lead on all HR programs involving full cycle recruitment and temporary needs, employee development/training content, employee relations and the design/ administration of appropriate compensation programs that retain and engage employees. They will assist and partner with the HRD and HR Administrator on otherHR programs, policies and procedures as needed and/or assigned.
The ideal Human Resources candidate is comfortable in an individual contributor role and possesses solid progressive well-rounded HR generalist experience. They enjoy taking the lead on projects and presentations and exhibit passion and energy with a strong ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at differing levels and functionalities.

Lead the full cycle Recruitment process from initial job posting all the way through to background and reference checks along with debriefing with hiring managers and establishing a starting salary. Work with management and outside agencies to secure temporary staff as needed.
Take the lead on developing appropriate content for Employee Training and Development sessions including establishing training objectives and an effective project timeline. Present/deliver employee training and follow up with post training evaluation. Research and lead the assessment of a new Learning Management System (LMS). Responsible for ongoing administration.
Partner closely with the HRD regarding Compensation strategy. Utilize company guidelines/objectives as well as researching, monitoring and analyzing industry and company trends. Make recommendations regarding adjustments to Compensation and Benefits programs so as to attract and retain employees. Assist the HRD with employee annual performance appraisals and compensation programs.
Provide ongoing support and guidance to managers and employees on HR policies, procedures and practices inclusive of the disciplinary process and performance management issues. Participate in Employee Relations issues (terminations, performance, leave). Conduct staff Exit Interviews and provide analysis of trends and recommendations to HRD.
Maintain and provide timely information to the HRD regarding new hire/retention data, termination, attendance, recruitment closing ratio and other data as needed.
Conduct safety/accident investigations. Prepare reports for management and workers compensation insurance carrier.
Review/update the Employee Handbook to reflect current workplace policies and procedures. Provide recommendations regarding streamlining and utilizing technology etcetera to improve HR department operating efficiency.
OtherHR duties and general support functions as needed and requested.

REQUIREMENTS - HUMAN RESOURCES SPECIALIST:
H.S. diplomarequired. Bachelor's degree in human resources or a related field strongly preferred. PHR or SPHR certification is a plus.
Requires 5 - 7years of progressive human resources generalist experience.
Strong demonstrated experience and knowledge of: Full cycle recruitment and temporary placements; California Employment law, Compensation LOA; Employee relations; Employee training content development, presentation and follow-up; Workers compensationclaims and reports; and Project management.
Must possess excellent organization and time management skills with the demonstrated ability to set daily/ongoing appropriate priorities, meet firm deadlines, and develop appropriate project timelines.
Strong interest and experience in developing training content for internal employee training programs such as behavioral based interviewing etcetera. Experience with effective small group presentations and appropriate follow-up. Learning Management System (LMS) knowledge and administration a plus.
Demonstrated ability to interpret, apply and explain applicable HRlaws, regulations and policies.
Comfort level with individual contributor and lead project management roles as well as working effectively in a strong collaborative team environment.
Excellent computer skills with intermediate to advanced knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat and HRIS (ADP desired).
Possess clear concise oral and written communication and presentation skills demonstrating accuracy, thoroughness and attention to detail.

Requires strong conceptual, research, problem solving and presentation skills as well as basic math and analysis skills.
Reliable transportation, valid CA license and insurance. Ability to travel to company sites within the SF Bay area as needed.
