SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform analysis and documentation on compliance requirements of NERC, FERC & NAESB, SSAE 16 and MISO business processes. Assist and guide requirement owners with compliance efforts focusing on NERC CIP standards and established IT SSAE 16 controls.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
* Develop and maintain schedules, reports, and materials for compliance-related activities pertaining to IT and other control-related matters
* Use generally accepted IT security and control practices to benchmark the existing and planned IT environment
* Coordinate with requirement owners in the IT organization to ensure consistent compliance with applicable requirements
* Assist requirement owners with identifying remedies to findings
* Create tracking tools and reports for compliance measures
* Prepare reports and briefs explaining standards issues and compliance status.
* Support and serve on internal committees, task forces, and compliance working groups.
* Evaluate both routine and difficult matters of moderate risk and identifies multiple solutions using advanced analytical techniques. Makes decisions affecting the design, scheduling, and completion of projects.
* Examine highly complex data from multiple sources crossing departmental boundaries in which results are not predictable.
* Utilize multiple advanced analytical techniques such as critical, creative, conceptual and intuitive thinking to analyze moderately high risk situations, generate multiple options and approaches while considering how the solution may change or impact the organization.
* Apply analysis to identify trends and predict future issues to effectively implements courses of action.
* Compliance with all processes, procedures, and standards applicable to the position including (but not limited to): SSAE16 (Statement on Standards for Attestation Engagements No. 16), CIP (Critical Infrastructure Protection), Change Management, Tariff (Open Access Transmission, Energy and Operating Reserve Markets Tariff), FERC (Federal Energy Regulatory Commission), NERC (North American Electric Reliability Corporation), U.S. Department of Homeland Security, and NAESB (North American Energy Standards Board).
QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business or related technical field required
* CIA, CFE and/or CISA preferred.
Experience:
* Four years internal or external IT audit in a regulated environment
* NERC CIP regulated environment preferred
* Process improvement project management preferred
* Energy industry preferred.
Knowledge:
* Principles, practices, and administration of technical issues
* Microsoft Office Suite
* NERC CIP standards
* Information systems, database, networking and security best practices
* Industry computing platforms and architectures
* Compliance, risk management and security
