The Sr. Information Security Engineer is responsible for the complex design and implementation of enterprise-level security components to ensure that Group Healths information, including health information (PHI, ePHI, PII, and Group Health Confidential and Restricted-Confidential) is secure from unauthorized access, protected from inappropriate alteration, physically secure, available to authorized users in a timely fashion, and monitored for incidents, breaches, and other anomalies. Developments and documents detailed information security designs; for the implementation of said designs through the engineering and operations phases of implementation; and for assurance that the elements prescribed by the Information Security Architecture function are implemented and operated consistent with the architecture and applicable roadmaps. Works with Information Technology staff on the security controls environment as appropriate. Provides feedback on engineering and operational aspects of the Information Security Architecture to the Information Security Architecture function in order to provide a feedback loop on its effectiveness and efficiency and inform the future direction of the Information Security Architecture and any/all applicable roadmaps. MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Bachelors Degree Information Technology or related field. Equivalent combination of relevant education, training, and experience may be accepted in lieu of degree.
Masters Degree Business or Technology Management.
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS REQUIREMENTS
Intermediate Demonstrated technical acuity in the field of information security engineering. Demonstrated understanding of information security principles and practices, including solution design & implementation, solution analysis, development, testing, and implementation. Ability to understand business asset protection requirements and deliver cost-effective technical solutions. Ability to communicate, present, influence, and collaborate with many disciplines, such as management, physicians, information systems specialists, health information specialists, financial managers, state and federal agency officials, and patients/clients or other individuals upon whom the entity maintains or transmits individually identifiable health information.
Advanced Knowledge of security technology trends, industry best practices, and security technology related to applications, networks, and infrastructure.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
5 years Information security engineering experience in a technical capacity. Demonstrated experience performing security design, build, implementation, and support for information security infrastructure in an enterprise-level environment. Demonstrated experience in technical assessment and design; for both in-house developed solutions and provider-based solutions (cloud, ASP).
8 years General information technology experience.
Other Experience Healthcare-related experience in information security preferred.
MINIMUM LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS
At time of hire Progress or completion of certification program such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).
